Here is a quick Bio:
I started playing trumpet at age 9. Having a father who also played trumpet, along with taking private lessons at a local music store, made it really easy for me to learn. By age 15, I was playing Lead Trumpet in the San Diego All City Jazz Band. In the early 80's, I started teaching at Thearle Music where I taught Music Theory and performance in group and private settings, along with coaching High School bands within the San Diego School District.
Throughout my professional career, I have had the privilege to work as a soloist, studio musician, pit orchestra member, and lead & section player, collaborating with numerous prominent San Diego and Los Angeles-based bands. Some of the highlights of my performance experience include playing lead trumpet with the Royal Caribbean Cruise Orchestra and sharing the stage with renowned artists such as The Diamonds, The Platters, The Drifters, Four Tops, The Temptations, The Osmond Brothers, Clint Holmes, Charo, Ben Vereen, Mary Wilson (The Supremes), Peter Noone (Herman's Hermits), Micky Dolenz (The Monkees), concert violinist Maria Neglia, and comedians Joey Van and Yacov Noe.
Upon returning to San Diego in 2000, I continued to pursue my passion for music, both as a performer and as an educator. Currently, I am actively involved with various performing ensembles throughout San Diego County, spanning diverse genres such as Big Band Jazz and R&B Dance. In addition to teaching music privately, I am also a faculty member at a private school in Fallbrook, CA.
Please feel free to contact me if you are interested in hiring a great band for your occasion, need full band or horn arrangements . . . and/or if you are interested in private lessons.
